We believe quality products are the only way forward for ensuring customers can realise the benefits of LED lighting.
Our products are designed to last so you can realise the cost savings of using them.
Cheap LED products do not last and so are essentially pointless – you will not realise any savings because you will have to replace them. We have seen some products last only 1000 hours.
An LED driver is the heart of any retrofit LED lighting product – if it doesn’t last then it doesn’t matter what the lifetime of the LEDs themselves are – the product will never reach that lifetime. We have long term tests of our drivers up to 3 years continuous un-interrupted use – that’s over 24,000 hours without the driver failing.
Our drivers use heat tolerant electrolytic capacitors to ensure long life and no ‘strobing’.
We thermally bond our COB (Chips On Board) and SMD (Surface Mount Diodes) modules to solid aluminium or ceramic heat sinks. This means the heat is dissipated away from the LEDs themselves to ensure they will not fail prematurely and the driver will not overheat.
Our heat sink placement and design ensure heat is kept away from driver electronics whilst dissipating as much heat from the LED modules.
Light output design
Our GU10 and MR16 spotlights are proper replacements for traditional lighting without compromising quality. Our products have a focused beam just like a traditional halogen, giving the perfect style of lighting whether at home or commercial environment. Some cheaper GU10 and MR16 LED lamps have essentially no beam angle, giving a harsh appearance and inferior illumination compared to traditional lighting. Our products have a high Colour Rendering Index (CRI) that ensures a wide spectrum of light illuminates the subject of the lamp, unlike some cheaper LED lamps.
Inferior lamps also tend to ‘strobe’ at 50Hz because of their cheaper drivers. The surface mount LEDs are also sometimes exposed as shown in the image above which is potentially dangerous as the electrical connections are completely un-covered.
Our products comply with ERP directives, EU Low Voltage Directive and the relevant standards IEC 62560, EN60968 and EN6247.
